The Device list displays all the SCSI devices connected to your Macintosh. Select a drive from this list to activate the “Utilities” menu.
This pop-up menu allows you to scan, eject, and view SCSI information about the selected device.
You can also view the tape or error log, configure settings, and test a tape or drive.
This pop-up menu allows you to find, view, mount, or repair tape directories and volumes.
Use this to specify a directory number you want to find using the “Find” command.
It also shows the directory that is currently mounted or was last found.
Allows you to turn DeskTape ON or OFF.
Turning DeskTape OFF allows you to use other tape software with your tape drive.
Means the drive can access the tape.
Means the tape is mounted.
If “Mount” is underlined, tapes will automatically mount when they are inserted in the drive. You can toggle the “Mount” control by clicking on it.
Means the tape is write-protected.
Tapes can be locked with the write-protect tab. Also, tapes will mount locked if they are mounted with the directory “Mount” command.
Hardware Data Compression.
If the tape is not mounted, you can click here to control HDC. Use the “Tapes” window to control the compression setting used when tapes are mounted.
Sorry, your drive does not support Hardware Data Compression.
